Review: Kosmea Rosey Glow Body Essentials & Hydrating Rosewater Mist

Rose water is a product I’ve grown up with in my household. My family has used it as a flavour in food – especially desserts like Gulab Jamun (literally translated to Rose Berry) – as well as for beauty therapy – as an astringent to heal up abrasions and to clarify the skin.

So, when Kosmea sent me their Rose Glow range and the Hydrating Rosewater Mist, I was transported back to nostalgic memories*.

Let’s take a minute to admire the pouch this range comes in. How cute is that rose design? And the size of the pouch is perfect for your toiletry essentials when you’re going away. So, what was included in the kit?

Rose Glow Body Wash

This body wash; it smells heavenly. It’s smells predominantly of rosewater, one of the ingredients. It is sulphate free, which means your skin does not feel stripped and dry after a shower. My skin feels hydrated and smooth.

Rose Glow Body Oil

This is a lightweight oil that contains Rosehip, Rose and Avocado oils. The oil has a little bit of a greasy texture to it, but my dry skin absorbed it quickly. I am quite conservative when I use body oils, so I don’t tend to use too much when I apply it to my skin. I love the fragrance with this oil, it’s got a beautifully herbal scent that doesn’t feel too overpowering. Seriously, it just reminds me of a trip to the spa.

Rose Glow Body Mist and Hydrating Rosewater Mist

I’m clubbing these two products together as they are mists. A point to note though: the Rose Glow Body Mist comes part of the Rosey Glow Body Essentials. The Hydrating Rosewater Mist is for the face – I used it for those really hot days and it’s made me feel refreshed during the ickiness of the humidity. The added rosewater scent made me think of the ancient kings of India (especially Akbar, who built the famous Taj Mahal for his love). Akbar used to have a channel in each room of the palace to allow rose water to flow through the rooms thereby having a ancient air conditioning system with it’s built in air fresheners in. The Rose Glow Body Mist is like the facial mist, but for the body!

Overall Thoughts

I think there is a certain order in which to use the products from the Rosey Glow Body Essentials – I believe it’s meant to be used as Body Wash, Body Mist followed by the Body Oil. This method helps to really lock in the moisture in your skin and you wake up smelling of roses, which if followed by this method, lasts pretty much the whole day. It’s a great system and I’m a really big fan of the body oil in particular. This would be a perfect gift for that someone special or for use on special occasions or on dates. Especially if you want to ooze a delicious fragrance without smelling too artificial, this is a perfect way to not only pamper yourself, but also to boost that hydration on your skin and essentially, your confidence.

You can purchase these items and the rest of the Kosmea range here. If you want to read my post on other Kosmea products, you can do so here.

Have you tried anything from the Kosmea range? Have you used rosewater in your skincare regime before?

  1. I haven’t used anything from Kosmea before (although I have been tempted), but I’ve certainly used rosewater in my skincare regime before. I’m a sucker for a good rosewater mist & they’re definitely hydrating on my skin, although brands do vary. I’ve found La Mav (another Aussie beauty company) does a wonderful rose mist – it’s quite wet once applied, which I like because my skin doesn’t suck it up too fast.

  2. Ooooh this sounds amazing! I love rosewater too and Ive had it in some dessert with Cardamom before at one of my fave Indian restuarants, I would love to try this range out.
