Day date glam

Day (or Date) Time Glam

I’ve got a brand new look out! It’s a day (or date) time glam look. What I mean by that, is it’s a glam look that can be worn day or night. What I love is the simplicity of the look; relying on a winged liner and a red lip for the classic chic.

All About the Base

After completing your skincare routine and SFP (don’t forget your sunscreen), apply your base product. For this look, I’m using the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation in the shade Classic Tan. And as always, when I’m in a hurry, I use my fingers to apply the product.

Being a mum, my perma bags under my eyes need attention, so I rely on the Colourpop No Filter Concealer in the shade #32. If you’re looking for a review of the Colourpop no filter range, check it out here. I use whatever concealer is left on my fingers on the top of my lids. This acts as a base for my eyeshadow.

Look Into My Eyes

This eyeshadow is forever going to be special to me….firstly because it was a gift from my dear friend Su when we went on our #staycation. And secondly because look at the colour! It’s a Tom Ford eyeshadow in the shade Warm Leatherette. On the outset, it looks gold, but it has teeny tiny little flecks of warmth in there to shift it to another shade depending on the light. Again, you can probably tell, I’m in a rush, so this one too is applied with fingers.

I use the Lancome Grandiose Liquid Liner. A cult favourite – and for a reason; it has not failed me nor has it dried out. And forget about Red Bull, this one gives me wings like no other!

The Hourglass Veil Translucent powder has been my go to to set my concealer. From the shape of the container and the finely milled powder, it has been what I reach for every single time.

Because I’ve been lazy, I have been leaving my brows bushy and untamed for a bit. I use my NYX Micro Precise Eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps; and the spoolie on the other end to brush through.

Blush Blush Baby

Y’all know I live for colour; and so I rely on a cream blush like Revlon Cream blush in the shade Flushed. This is a blue pink colour and is unfortunately discontinued. I use – you guessed it – my fingers (there is a pattern here!)

The Final Countdown

Finish off the look with Tom Ford Lips & Boys lipstick in the shade Alejandro. This has been one of my favourite red lipsticks out there. The pink shimmer on the lipstick is within the same family as the blush. So you can see that even though it’s not too monochromatic, the look still has a cohesiveness to it.

Don’t forget to always take a step back to get that final look, which is what I did and that’s when I realised that I totally forgot mascara! #noob. So I quickly grab my go-to, the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara, snap up a few selfies before I run out the door.

What do you think? Ready for a day at the office? Or a date night? What occasion would you wear this to?
