07The last time I did one of these posts, it was so well received, I was inspired to do another one.
Hello lovely people, Eid is just around the corner. And I think it’s about time we address the question that usually pops up right about now: what the heck do I wear for Eid?!? (cue feverish scrolling through Pinterest for inspiration).
Today’s post is all about creating a look that’s all about a fresh glowing skin, a smoky eye and a pretty pout.
Achieve The Glowy Base for Eid
Illumination starts from the first layer – grab the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Moisture Balm in Bare Glow* for that subtle start of a really glowy skin.
Next, I go in with the YSL All Hours Foundation* – this one is a shade darker than my winter skin tone, but that’s the look I’m going for – holding on to any semblance of summer! Hah!
With all the evening prayers and last minute running around for Eid Shopping, you betcha I have dark circles! But I don’t have to worry too much, as the YSL Touche Eclat concealer is perfect for covering up all those dark secrets.
While the skin is still settling in with the foundation, now’s the time to apply blush – I’m reaching for the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge cream blush in the shade Pale Pink*.Pat Pat Pat and using the foundation brush, blend out the edges to make it look seamless.
I Love Smoky Eyes Especially for Eid
Similar to the face, I lay the base on the eyes with the Gilded Cage Revelation eyeshadow in the shade Mahogany*. Using a fluffy brush, soften the edges. Over the top of this, I’m layering the Urban Decay shadow in Snakebite. But first, I gotta spritz a little MAC Fix Plus to intensify the colour. Snakebite is this gorgeous bronze, brown, with hints of old burnished gold in it. The underlying layer of Mahogany just adds another dimension to the eye. Use whatever is left on the brush to smudge shadow on the lower lash line. Complete the look with liquid liner – using the Clinique Pretty Easy eyeliner* is well, pretty easy! Line like you normally would, I’m going for the usual – my winged liner. Finish off with a couple of coats pf the L’Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara.
Eid Calls For The Pretty Pout
Y’all know I am a sucker for a bold lip colour. However, instead of going for the usual red shade, I’m switching gears – the Bobbi Brown Crushed lip colour in Watermelon* makes the cut! Its a nice vibrant colour thats fun and feminine; perfect to light up a really dull day! You don’t need to do this, but I like to line the lips – just to overdraw where I need to. Im using the Rimmel Exaggerate lip liner in the shade Pink a Punch to achieve this.
Highlight! This is meant to be a glowy look yes? Grab the cream highlight – I’m using Gilded Cage chubby highlight in Topaz and do a couple of swipes across my face. I’m targeting the usual suspects – the tops pf my cheeks, the bridge of my nose and the top lip. Blend with fingers and the same foundation brush to blur the edges.
Everyone, cue the choir – I’m dipping into my latest acquisition – my Hourglass Mineral Veil Translucent powder. This is the first time I’m using a loose powder and I might as well start with this one hey? I used the Lottie London brush* into the bowl and swirl the product onto the skin. The beauty of this product is that not only does it set the cream products, it somehow manages to retain the glow and beauty of said products.
Finish off the look with setting spray – I’m using the YSL Top Secret Makeup Setting Spray*. The spritz is so nice – even, fine and even sports a nice fragrance to boot!
