I know I did a post on Project Pan last year. But I think I went about it all wrong. Instead of setting a goal for myself, I just went with the flow and did a blog post because I was excited to actually be able to hit pan.
This year, I’m setting myself some goals – try to finish off these products. Some of these are products I’m pretty close to finishing, some others, I need a boost to use them.
I’ve broken down my choices for pan by segment.
Barry M Natural Glow Shadow and Primer Palette
This palette has a good mix of shadows – cool and warmer tones. I have been focusing on using the primer and the cooler tones, but that rusty shadow really brings brightness to the eyes. I need to use it a lot more. This product was the subject of my previous post.
Sleek Makeup Eye and Cheek Palette in All Day Soiree
This is a brilliant palette as well. I took it with me on my trip to India. The brown shadow is perfect to create a set base for the lids. The shade of neutral brown doesn’t muddy up the shadows layered on top of it. The light pink blush is great for a natural look with added luminosity to it. I find the highlight a bit chunky to use on the face, so I usually concentrate it on the eyes.
Bourjois Clubbing Waterproof eyeliners in Bleu Neon and Purple Night
These are the first coloured liners I purchased in 2016 and lent the story to my very first blog post. I have been using these in looks quite often and my hope is to use them up so I can get newer shades / repurchase depending on what I decide at the time. It is possible to use these during the day at work and I will do some posts on Instagram to show you how I incorporate it into my work looks.
Maybelline Kohl Kajal Liner
I will admit, I haven’t been reaching for this kohl liner recently. I’ve found products that work just as well (my Milani Kohl liner) and are easier to wield. I like the pigmentation, but I’m going to commit to using it a lot more this year.
Rimmel Brow This Way Eyebrow Powder Kit in Medium Brown
I purchased this kit at the start of 2016 as a way to maintaining my brows. But for the life of me, I couldn’t get a hang of using the palette. I watched oodles of YouTube tutorials using this product, but I couldn’t replicate the effect they demonstrated on my own brows. Also, I have a love-hate relationship with the little brushes that accompany the kit. To be honest, they are too small for my fingers to use. But in that same breath, I will admit to using them when I realized I’ve forgotten to carry my own brush with me.
Maybelline Brow Precise Shaping Pencil
I actually like this product! I’ve been using it quite regularly to add definition to the brows. The shade is a decent match to my brow hairs. It does throw a little bit red, but when I use it in combination with my Milani clear brow gel, it’s barely noticeable. I also love the stiff spooly on the other end of the pencil. It’s great to brush the hairs. I’m pretty close to the half way mark on this, so I can see myself finishing it off this year.
Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Mattes lipstick in Touch of Spice
I really like this lipstick. I’ve been having my moments where I use this regularly for weeks on end and then I’d get bored and switch up to another lip product. It’s a comfortable lipstick and I have already worked my way through half of the tube. I just need to finish it this year.
Bobbi Brown art stick in Cassis
I haven’t been using this product for a while now. It is a great reddish brown shade that gives a natural result to my skin. It’s a great everyday shade for me. The beauty of this product is that it can be used both on the lips and the cheek as a blush.
This is a teeny tiny bottle and I can’t believe I haven’t finished it up yet. This is a beautiful stain for the cheek and I love using it on days where I’m wearing minimal makeup. I think from now, I will need to stop using the accompanying brush and instead tip in onto my fingers and blend away.
MAC blush in Desert Rose
This is a powder blush I purchased back in 2015. A universally flattering shade, I haven’t even put a dent on the surface of the blush. I think I will need to find ways to use it in my routine if I want to make some progress on this product.
Elizabeth Arden Instant Flawless Primer
This is a great primer and up until about a month ago, was the only primer I used to use in my routine. I have definitely finished up a lot of this product, I just need to commit myself to finishing it off before I get more distracted by the new primers I added to my collection.
L’Oreal True Match Foundation in 6N Honey
A wonderful affordable foundation. This is a lightweight foundation with light-medium coverage depending on how you layer it on your skin. The thin consistency leaves a tacky sort of feeling, so you need to set it with a powder, especially if you have any oiliness on your skin.
That’s my list for 2017. For now. I will post check-ins to let you know of my progress. If I finish off products from this list, I will add more to it (I have plenty to finish off).
What’s on your list for project pan?
