Review: LVL Hair Straightening Brush

Hair Straightening brushes are the exciting new trend to hit the shelves. The idea to combine a brush and a heat styler is a brilliant one. There are so many brands out there for different budgets and it can be a bit overwhelming to choose the right one.

Today’s post is about the Hair Straightening brush by LVL Hair*.

This styling tool comes in a slender box with black and white chevron designs. The side of the box contains features of the brush and the social media details of LVL Hair. When you slide the cardboard sleeve, you’re greeted with an information card that echoes the details on the side of the box.

When ordering off the website, you have the choice between a white trim and a gold trim brush. The trim is quite a subtle detail on the brush. Both are chic and just as pretty as the other.

The first impression that stood out to me when I held the brush was how light it felt in my hands. The plastic bristles are set on a ceramic hot plate and have a silicon tip.

The brush features an LCD screen on the back of the handle. The buttons to power on the device as well as control the temperature settings are on the side of the handle. You can also toggle the view to choose between Celsius and Fahrenheit. You can set the temperature upto 230 degrees C.

Make sure your hair is dry before using this product. The way to use this brush is similar to any heat styling tool – always use heat protectant. Part your hair in sections and use the straightener to brush through the hair. Going slow is key. Depending on your hair type, you may need to go over your hair multiple times to get it straight.

Overall Thoughts

I like the results this brush gives – your hair is straight, yet has movement to it. My hair was not too boofy after using the brush. One of the issues I faced with this brush was the position of the buttons on the handle – my fingers constantly changed the temperature while trying to straighten my hair. The lightweight brush felt comfortable in my hand and it was easy to use and maneuver around my head. The ceramic plates handled my frizzy hair quite well and gave me a naturally straight result. I also found that it didn’t overheat and the back of the brush didn’t feel too hot to the touch.

The straightening brush reduced the overall time in my hair routine, so I’m able to achieve sleek locks in a jiffy. I definitely recommend getting a straightening brush in your life. It’s a game changer if you’re looking for sleek locks  that have a bit of movement without being too poker straight.

This brush is currently discounted at AUD 89.99. To check out the full range, visit the LVL Hair website here.
