Hands up if you’re someone who loves a good glow (raises hand feverishly).
Today’s post is taking glow and boosting that to a whole new level! The best part is I’m going to use budget-friendly products to achieve this look – products you can find at Chemist Warehouse, Target, Priceline (you get the idea).
Are ya ready for this? I sure am! It’s going to be fun!
Ace the Base
As always, prep is the key. So get your glow on with these products.
- DB Cosmetics Rise & Prime Luminescent Primer*
- Rimmel Insta Fix & Go priming and finishing spray*
- Foundation (L’oreal True Match / NYX Cosmetics Total Control Drops*)
Conceal – Don’t Feel
I couldn’t get to this step without a Frozen reference, now could I?
You want to eliminate all traces of shadows that can make your face look drained.
- Bourjois Healthy Mix concealer*
- Rimmel Conceal & Correct palette*
- Rimmel Conceal & Highlight palette*
Get rid of all traces of redness, blemishes, shadows with these products. And don’t forget to blend.
Set and Forget
Use a setting powder to lock in all the hard work with the concealer. You don’t want it to move.
- Rimmel Instaflawless powder*
- NYX Cosmetics NoFilter powder*
Light It Up Baby!
The key to this look is the glow – so grab your highlight – depending on the final result you want to achieve.
- Physicians Formula shimmer brick in Nude
- Maybelline Strobing stick
- Inika Highlight*
- Rimmel Kate Moss highlight trio
- NYX Cosmetics Strobe of Genius palette*
- DB Cosmetics Brilliant Skin Duo*
Apply the highlight to the areas you want to bring to focus – your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, top of the lip.
Note: if using a cream highlight, use this before you powder, otherwise you end up with a streaky mess.
Eyes on the Prize
Grab an eyeshadow that will bring light to your eyes – I’m talking gold’s, shimmers, the works.
- L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Hourglass Beige
- Maybelline colour tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
- NYX Cosmetics Glam Stick in Elegant Marble
Hot tip: use the Physicians Formula shimmer brick as eyeshadow. You can choose between a single shadow, a row of shadows or just swirl your brush in the pan for a really beautiful fusion of colour.
All in a line
Grab a light coloured liner and line your eyes. You can choose between lining just the top lid or even bringing light to the waterline.
- Revlon Colorstay liner in Topaz
Curl Curl Curl
Mascara is definitely a must have to make the eye look wide awake and full of energy. My current mascaras on rotation are:
- Modelco Megalash mascara
- Rimmel Volume Shake mascara*
You make me Blush
A highlighty blush just adds to the youthful glow.
- Rimmel Kate Moss highlight trio
- Australis show some cheek blush in Dreamy
Sweep the blush onto the apples of the cheek and blend all the way to the temples.
Pucker Up
Grab a glossy or sheer lipstick for that inviting shine:
- NYX Cosmetics Lip Lustre glossy tint Rustic Mirage / Juicy Peach / Ruby Couture*
- Maybelline Color Jolt in Stripped Down
Finishing Touches
If you need to set the makeup, use a finishing spray.
- Rimmel Insta Fix & Go spray*
- DB Cosmetics spray & set*

That’s my take on a super fresh, glowy makeup. What are your thoughts? Is this something you would attempt? Or is this your go-to look anyway?
